Carla ScottMSN, CNM
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA I have been able to live and travel all over the United States. After earning my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Gannon University in Erie, PA I was commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps where I served on active duty for more than 9 years. There I was able to gain diverse experiences in Emergency Nursing, Case Management, and Labor & Delivery where I found my passion in Women’s Health Care and Advocacy. From there I went on to study Midwifery at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX and obtain my Masters of Science in Nursing and Certification as a nurse Midwife though the American Midwifery Certification Board.
A proud mom of 4 kids ranging from 10-25 years old, I understand the joys and complexities of a blended family. I love spending time in nature, hiking, biking, & skiing.
In many ways, I see my role in Midwifery as a tour guide. Pregnancy is a journey that many women think about, but understanding how to navigate your pregnancy journey can be complicated. I am here to learn about your goals, understand your needs, and work with you to plan a route to that destination. And as with all expeditions, I will plan for and help you navigate any bumps in the road.
An advocate for Reproductive Justice, I also seek to provide you with a full range of contraceptive options, allowing you to decide to grow your family how, when, and if you choose. Whether you’re looking to have 1, 2, or 10 (or 0) children… I would love to be your Midwife!
