Mary S. Shuman, MD., F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Mary Shuman has been in the community since 2000. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine with honors to include Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Cum Laude in 1996. She completed her Ob/Gyn residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. After residency, she joined Rappahannock Women’s Health Center and is active with Mary Washington Hospital.

She is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians/Gynecology. She was the chairman of the OB/Gyn department from 2005 to 2007 and served on multiple hospital committees as well as in the community of Fredericksburg. She then assumed Chief of Women’s Services at Mary Washington Hospital in 2007 and still serving in that role as well as her private practice and, in addition, a mother of two children. Her interests include improving local women’s services and community care, high risk obstetrics, office surgery and advanced laparoscopic gynecology surgery.
